Arthur J. Chapman

Mr. Chapman was born in Newark, New Jersey. He attended Villanova University, where he attained distinction on the Dean’s List. After matriculating to the University of California, Los Angeles, he graduated magna cum laude in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. In 1977, he earned his juris doctorate degree from Loyola Law School. He was admitted to the State Bar of California and the Bar of the United States District Court for the Central District of California in 1977. He is also admitted to the Bar of the United States Court of Appeal, Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Chapman is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates; Los Angeles County Bar Association (Trial Lawyers Section), the Orange County Bar Association, the American Bar Association of Business Trial Lawyers, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, and the Defense Research Institute. His published articles include Tripartite Relationship Dilemmas, DRI Magazine (Sept. 2001); Insurer’s Duty to Defend, 13 Pacific Law Journal 889-904 (1982).

Mr. Chapman has achieved the highest rating of “AV” by the prestigious national lawyer rating organization, Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Chapman has substantial jury trial experience, having tried numerous cases to final verdict. His specialities include insurance coverage, bad faith defense, products liability, catastrophic injury, employment litigation, commercial/business litigation, professional liability, uninsured motorist, and general negligence. Mr. Chapman also serves as a pro bono arbitrator/mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court.
